’Twas the day before Christmas, and all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring… except me.

Because something is happening.

I can feel it.

The humans are acting suspicious.

There are bags on the counter.

The fridge keeps opening.

The oven has been on more than usual, which is never a coincidence.

I follow my human from room to room to make sure nothing festive goes unmonitored. This is called holiday security.

The tree is glowing. I have already inspected it several times today. The lower ornaments remain where they should be (you’re welcome). The presents underneath smell like cardboard, ribbon, and potential—a very exciting combination.

I hear phrases like:

  • “Don’t forget the dessert.”

  • “Did you hide the gifts?”

  • “She’s watching us again.”

Yes.

Yes, I am.

The day before Christmas is a strange day. Humans rush around, but they also pause. They wrap things. They unwrap snacks early “by accident.” They sit on the couch and sigh like they’ve run a marathon made of feelings.

I help by being present.

Sometimes I receive a “test treat.”

Sometimes a crumb “falls.”

Sometimes I am told, “You’ve already had enough today,” which I believe is a suggestion, not a rule.

This is why wise humans prepare ahead and keep dog-safe treats within reach — especially ones made with real ingredients and no nonsense (like the kind found at Skyebiscuit).

By evening, the house smells like cinnamon, butter, and memories. I curl up nearby—not sleeping, just resting my eyes—while the humans whisper about tomorrow.

They think Christmas starts in the morning.

They are wrong.

Christmas starts right now.

When the lights are low.

When the kitchen is quiet again.

When the pack is together.

If you still need a few last-minute ideas, I humbly suggest:

  • Dog-safe holiday treats that feel special (and won’t ruin Christmas) → explore the Skyebiscuit Holiday Collection

  • Including your dog in the wrapping process (supervision required) → see “Christmas Is for Dogs”

  • Avoiding dessert-related heartbreak → see “My Human Is Making Christmas Desserts in Front of Me”

  • Knowing what actually belongs on the “nice list” → learn more about what makes Skyebiscuit different

I will be sleeping lightly tonight.

Just in case Santa needs directions.

Or snacks.

Love,

Skye 🎄🐶
